I work in Knowledge Management consultancy, helping people find out what they need to know, when they need to know it. It’s an intriguing mix of people, behaviours and technology and there’s always something new to learn – I’m lucky to have such an interesting role. I’m currently employed by Fujitsu UK and Ireland and specialise in SharePoint exploitation for knowledge sharing.

Both for work and personal interest, I’m a passionate advocate of social and people-centric technology. In recent years we’ve really started to get a glimpse into how these technologies could change our lives for the better. However, there’s still a majority who see such technologies as the province of geeks, nerds and techies – I seek to convince them otherwise wherever I can.

I am a photographer still searching for my style. I really enjoy street & documentary photography, but there’s so many other interesting subjects and styles to explore…

Windsurfing is an obsession for me and I spend far too much time looking at weather forecasts. I’m generally keen on most outdoor activities, enjoying sailing, walking and cycling.

In quieter moments I read extensively. I’m a science fiction and fantasy fan at heart, but will give most genres a go – I’m fond of crime novels, historical fiction and historical and political non-fiction. Most of my news consumption these days is online, where I keep up to date with current events through the web, blogs, and increasingly Twitter.

I write a blog on this site for my own amusement and interest – not least to keep me in the habit of writing regularly. Unfortunately I do struggle to update as often as I should!  All opinions expressed here are of course my own – or those of their contributors, in the case of comments.  I don’t speak in any official capacity for my employer.

I live in Newbury with my fiancée Claire and two Tonkinese cats, Cobweb and Rafiki.
